Bellafill has been FDA-approved since 2006 to treat facial wrinkles. A Bellafill study was conducted over the span of 6 years, which is the longest prospective study ever done for a dermal filler. The Bellafill study involved 23 treatment centers and 1,008 patients. There was a satisfaction rate of 83% in Bellafill patients 5 years after their treatment session. The results of this study were astounding and left 90% of physicians agreeing that the satisfaction level of Bellafill users was “unprecedented.”

THE SCIENCE OF BELLAFILL

Bellafill’s tiny, polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres are suspended within a base of smooth collagen gel. Once injected, the collagen gel immediately reduces the look of smile lines. Over time, your body uses the microspheres in Bellafill to create a “scaffold” onto which your own natural collagen can develop. This collagen forms a foundation that adds volume to wrinkles, reducing their appearance – and giving you natural-looking results that feel soft and smooth for up to 5 years.

THE BENEFITS OF BELLAFILL

WRINKLES

Bellafill raises the bar for other dermal fillers as far as immediate and long-term results. By far the best advantage to Bellafill over other dermal fillers is the length of time your results last—although not permanent, your results will last up to 5 years, but there are many other benefits including:

  • Instant, visible results
  • Stimulates the recreation of the natural skin structure
  • Provides rejuvenated, beautiful skin
  • Only dermal filler to undergo vigorous study for post-injection approval over 6 years, speaks to the effectiveness of Bellafill

BELLAFILL SIDE EFFECTS

Bellafill treatment offers few adverse effects including little discomfort or sensitivity to the treatment site. Aside from possibly needing a little bit of aspirin after treatment, there is little else to worry about. The safety of Bellafill cannot be understated as it can seemingly reverse years of age in less time.

Your treatment area will not experience persistent swelling, only temporarily, following treatment. The use of Bellafill should happen without any serious adverse events. Talk to your doctor if you have a propensity for allergic reactions, any severe allergies, psoriasis or another medical conditions. If hives, rashes, or cysts appear, consult a physician about medications or anti-inflammatory drugs, or if you’ve had a positive skin test.

Bellafill vs Juvederm

Bellafill is known for its long-lasting benefits of treating wrinkles, bumps, or lumps. Juvederm is a slightly more temporary solution. Both can lead to a more youthful appearance offering robust wrinkle correction with minimal side effects and swelling around the injection site. Restylane is another close treatment option to Bellafill.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both Bellafill and Sculptra add volume to the face by eliminating fine lines and wrinkles. Bellafill offers nearly immediate results that last about five years and need no maintenance treatments. On the other hand, Sculptra injections take up to 8 weeks to appear and require yearly touch-ups. Individual Sculptra injections cost slightly less than Bellafill, but this difference is offset by the maintenance needs associated with Sculptra.

When compared to other similar procedures, Bellafill is the only permanent filler approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Sources state that Bellafill injections (and their results) last for 5 years, but these studies were limited in that they only followed participants for 5 years. Scientists believe that the biological components of Bellafill last indefinitely.

Bellafill is FDA-approved for the treatment of distended acne scars. Only one session is needed for this procedure and results last up to 1 year.

This type of filler is safe to use under the eyes, on the laugh lines that surround the mouth, around the nose, and in the lips.
