Ultherapy is an FDA-cleared treatment that uses soundwaves to tighten lax skin, wrinkles and dampen the effects of gravity when we age. The beauty of ultherapy is that it does not require injections, cutting, or surgery. There is no downtime, minimal side effects, and no need for pain medication after the treatment. Greenwich Dermatology™ was the first practice in CT to introduce Ultherapy.

Ultherapy uses are numerous depending on the individual. This quick, minute procedure helps eliminate the appearance of excess skin in many sections of the body including the forehead, brow line, cheeks, chin, and other areas of the face. The procedure navigates safely beneath the surface of the skin. Improve skin texture in just one visit, and safely reverse the aging process.

IMPROVE SKIN LAXITY

As we age, our skin loses its firmness and begins sagging. These natural effects of time are common but treatable.

An experienced medical spa knows how to alleviate your sagging skin effectively without significant tenderness or unwanted side effects following treatment.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR ULTHERAPY?

Schedule an appointment with a top physician in Greenwich, CT to find out if you are a good fit for ultherapy.

The procedure produces new, stronger collagen. Best of all, the creation of new collagen is done without having to undergo a surgical facelift.

The initial effect of your ultherapy can be noticeable, but don’t expect to be able to see the complete results until between three to six months.

Most patients will only require ultherapy treatment once a year, but they can consult their doctor about receiving periodic touch-ups if need be.

For more information, talk to a skilled MD at Greenwich Dermatology: Dr. Henry or Michele Gasiorowski.

THE SCIENCE

High Intensity Focused Ultrasounds (HIFU) are guided by Ulthera’s patented DeepSEE technology to allow for direct visualization under the skin surface so that the soundwaves can be focused with the highest precision on the muscle that needs tightening. This muscle is called the SMAS and is the same one that plastic surgeons tighten during a facelift. The heat energy delivered by the soundwaves into the target tissue triggers a collagen remodeling response resulting in a visible tightening 3 months later.

THE TREATMENT

In order to make patients as comfortable as possible, we now have Pronox available. Pronox delivers a low level laughing gas, which is also used in the delivery room. It is FDA-cleared, safe and allows patients to drive home after their treatment. We do not need to use narcotics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ulthera, also known as Ultherapy, is used to tighten the skin and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This non-invasive procedure is unlike other skin tightening methods that use injections and laser technology. Ulthera can be used on much of the upper body -- from the brow to the décolletage.

Ultherapy uses sound waves (also known as ultrasound) to trigger collagen production in a certain area of the body. This collagen boost gradually lifts the area being worked on. So, while you might see some results shortly after the procedure, you will have a better idea of the outcome between three and six months after you receive Ulthera.

Unlike laser- and radiofrequency-based procedures, there is much less of a chance that you will experience unpleasant side effects such as redness, blistering, or swelling. This is because ultrasound therapy precisely targets the skin layer that boosts collagen. As a result, the top layer of your skin will experience very few side effects.

If you get Ulthera on a small area, such as the brow, you may pay up to $1,000. But if you’re looking for improvements in a larger part of the body, such as the entire face or décolletage, you can pay around $4,500 to $5,000 in total.
